DIAMOND J FARM is a thirteen acre, wooded, mountain property with streams, wildflowers and rolling hills. On the property is a picturesque barn, a cozy log cabin and a 1935 farm house we just renovated.

The DIAMOND J FARM log cabin is tucked away in the woods above the farm house. The exceptional views of the valley, meadows and mountains, are best seen from your wide, covered deck or from the steaming, hot tub. Just off the deck is a terrific fire-pit. There's nothing better than relaxing in the hot-tub with a glass of wine and enjoying a crackling fire at night!

The farmhouse is larger with two bedrooms, a fireplace in the master bedroom and one in the living room. The kitchen is charmingly done in the 50's style. There is a comfy sitting-room with lots of games, books and puzzles to pass the time. This is a great place to spend with the family.
No matter which place you choose to stay, you will find yourself totally relaxed in no time at all! The mornings are all about sitting on the deck with your coffee and watching the mist rising from the meadows. In the evenings you'll watch the twinkling fire-flies dance across the grass, and listen to the crickets chirping in the background. And what could be better than gazing at the fire from the comfort of the hot tub?
One of the things we especially enjoy doing is pampering our guests! If you are celebrating a special occasion, please let us know and we will do everything to make it a memorable event.

| For your special occasion, let us have everything ready for your arrival. We can have the champagne chilled, the roses arranged, dinner reservations made, delicate rose-petals sprinkled on the bed & chocolate truffles waiting by your pillows! We will be happy to make dinner reservations or pick up your theater tickets in advance. This could be the best celebration you've ever had, just leave all the work to us and enjoy yourselves! $60. |

How would you like to arrive at your lovely hide-away and have your kitchen stocked with the makings for breakfast or dinner? You can kick back, cozy up to the fire, enjoy the hot tub and not have to go shopping! We will have your refrigerator filled with half a dozen eggs, a half pound of bacon or sausage, one quart of milk, one quart of orange juice, fresh bakery muffins, 1/4 pound of butter, and fresh, in season fruit. The pantry will be stocked with your coffee and tea. This should cover two breakfasts for two! $38.50. For dinner we will have a roasted chicken, fresh, in season vegetables, baked or instant herb & garlic mashed potatoes, and a loaf of Italian bread with 1/4 pound of butter. We will also add a bakery item with a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for dessert. $36.00. Of course, to top off the meals, the table will be set with a bouquet of flowers right from our meadows. |
*THE STORY*
We drove by this piece of property many times, and we were curious because all you could see was a small driveway winding up through the trees. It was so deeply forested you couldn't tell what lay up ahead. One day a for sale sign popped up and that was our chance to check it out!
And WOW, did we ever fall in love with it! It has everything! It's got streams, a wonderful old barn with wild blackberries growing up the sides and old cow trails traversing the hills. We put the log cabin in first. Through the years many folks keep coming back because they love the place so much. So, it was time to get to work and get the farmhouse ready for guests too. The 2 bedroom farmhouse is fascinating, and, with many hours of renovation, we have brought it back to look just as it did in 1935 when it was built.
There are many old apple, peach and cherry trees too. The farm was a working farm with goats, chickens, horses and cows. The elderly couple living there for 70 years grew all their own vegetables and fruits. It broke my heart that the gardens had to be taken out. But, with lots of work we've put in new gardens and when the produce is in, we love to share with our guests.

We were high school sweethearts from Pompano Beach, Florida. After a 3 years, 9 months and 9 days (!!!) stint in the Navy, we moved to Jupiter, Florida. We lived there for 8 years and had 2 beautiful daughters. Then it was on to The Fabulous Florida Keys, where we enjoyed ourselves for 21 years. It was time for a new setting, something different! And here we are, in one of the most beautiful spots in the world! The mountains of North Carolina!!
We are now "retired" and spend our days leisurely clearing land, hauling rocks and landscaping.
